ED Shaker (Electrodynamic Shaker)

Electrodynamic (ED) Shaker

Electrodynamic Vibration Test System

Our Electrodynamic (ED) Shaker Systems are designed for precise and repeatable vibration testing across product development, qualification and reliability testing.

Using electromagnetic excitation and closed-loop vibration control, the system can generate controlled sine, random and shock profiles across a wide frequency range. Different shaker configurations can be selected according to the required force, acceleration, displacement and DUT payload.

ED shaker systems are suitable for automotive, semiconductor, electronics, aerospace, defense, battery and industrial applications.

Vibration Testing Capabilities

Sine Vibration

Sine testing provides controlled sinusoidal excitation for identifying product resonance, structural weaknesses and frequency-dependent responses.

Typical applications include:

  • Resonance search
  • Frequency sweep
  • Structural evaluation
  • Component qualification
  • Product durability testing

Random Vibration

Random vibration testing simulates complex vibration environments experienced during transportation, operation and field use.

The system supports programmable PSD (Power Spectral Density) profiles and closed-loop control for accurate reproduction of specified vibration environments.

Mechanical Shock

The ED shaker can be configured for controlled shock testing to evaluate products against sudden mechanical impacts and transient acceleration.

Shock profiles can be programmed according to the required peak acceleration, pulse duration and waveform.

Key System Features

High-Performance Electrodynamic Excitation

The shaker converts electrical input into controlled mechanical vibration through an electromagnetic drive system.

Different force classes are available to accommodate everything from small electronic components and PCBs to larger automotive and industrial assemblies.

Customized Fixtures

We can provide customized fixtures according to the DUT size, mounting pattern and test direction.

Typical configurations include:

  • Head expanders
  • Slip tables
  • Cube fixtures
  • PCB fixtures
  • Automotive component fixtures
  • Battery fixtures
  • Customized aluminum fixtures

Fixture design can be optimized to minimize fixture resonance and maintain an appropriate vibration response across the required frequency range.

Vertical & Horizontal Testing

The shaker can be configured for vertical vibration testing, while a horizontal slip table can be added for horizontal-axis testing.

This allows customers to perform vibration testing in different orientations without changing the fundamental test platform.

Environmental Chamber Integration

For products requiring combined environmental stresses, the ED shaker can be integrated with a vibration chamber.

This configuration allows simultaneous:

Temperature + Humidity + Vibration

testing for applications such as automotive electronics, aerospace equipment, semiconductor packages and battery systems.

Typical Applications

Automotive

Testing of ECU, sensors, actuators, connectors, BMS, automotive electronics and EV components under simulated road and operating vibration.

Semiconductor & Electronics

Testing of PCBA, semiconductor packages, electronic modules, connectors and components for structural and solder-joint reliability.

Aerospace & Defence

Environmental vibration qualification of avionics, electronic equipment, structural assemblies and other mission-critical components.

Battery & EV

Vibration testing of battery modules, battery packs, power electronics and EV components under transportation and operating conditions.

Industrial Equipment

Reliability and durability testing of motors, controllers, instruments, pumps and industrial electronic assemblies.

Typical System Configuration

A complete ED shaker system can include:

ED Shaker → Power Amplifier → Vibration Controller → Accelerometers → Fixture / Slip Table → DUT

Optional equipment can include:

  • Head expander
  • Horizontal slip table
  • Additional accelerometers
  • Multi-channel data acquisition
  • Temperature / humidity chamber
  • Thermal shock integration
  • Remote monitoring
  • Customized test fixtures

Standards

ED shaker systems can be configured for vibration testing according to applicable international and industry standards, including:

  • IEC 60068-2-6 – Sinusoidal Vibration
  • IEC 60068-2-64 – Broadband Random Vibration
  • IEC 60068-2-27 – Shock
  • MIL-STD-810H – Environmental Engineering and Laboratory Tests
  • RTCA DO-160 – Environmental Conditions and Test Procedures for Airborne Equipment
  • JESD22 vibration and mechanical stress test methods
  • Customer-specific vibration profiles

The applicable standard and test profile should be confirmed according to the product and application.

Complete Vibration Test Solutions

We provide more than the shaker itself. We can configure the complete vibration test system, including the ED shaker, amplifier, vibration controller, accelerometers, fixtures, slip tables, data acquisition and environmental chamber integration.

From a standalone shaker to a fully integrated temperature + humidity + vibration reliability test system, we can develop the solution around your DUT and required test profile.
